Red Kaolin Clay, known commonly as kaolinite, is used in a wide variety of applications and is the number one choice of potters. The orange-red colour of Red Kaolin Clay is mostly due to the oxidation of iron, which gives it a rustic hue. Kaolinite clay is also available in other colours, like white and light pink.
- Low shrink-swell capacity
- Iron-rich content
- High plasticity
- Diversified particle size
Often used in ceramics for its toughness, hardness, elasticity, superconductivity, and low ductility. This is due to the silica in ceramics, which aids the product’s hardened features.
- Lends its benefits to both teeth and gums when used in the manufacturing of toothpaste
- Can be used as filler or to add a glossy coating to paper products.
- Adds a glossy finish to paints when used for pigmentation
