Manganese Umber

Agricultural Application

Manganese (Mn) is an essential plant mineral nutrient, playing a key role in several physiological processes, particularly photosynthesis. Manganese deficiency is a widespread problem, most often occurring in sandy soils, organic soils with a pH above 6 and heavily weathered, tropical soils. Manganese is also an essential dietary element for ruminants. All ruminant tissues contain Mn.

Due to its inherent need in the environment to ensure healthy crops and animals, African Pegmatite can supply a high quality product geared specifically to the needs of the environment or application in which it is to be used.

Manganese Umber is used as a part of creating Manganous Oxide, which has been found to be very successful in supplying all ruminants with their required Mn intake.
